On-tap at 21A

A: The pour is a milky dark brown/chestnut color with a very minimal off-white head.

S: The nose is sort of light in terms of intensity, but what's there is good. A mild roasted malt character, some subtle spice esters, as well as hints of oranges, chocolate, and wheat.

T: A good, sweet, wheat flavor along with coriander and orange peel. A nice sweet bready flavor along with some undertones of chocolate.

M: The body is medium with a soft, low level of carbonation.

D: This beer didn't sound all that promising but it turned out to be one of the better offerings I've had from 21A.

On tap at 21st Amendment.

Pours pretty damn close to black with a large bubble off-white head. Not much lacing to speak of.

Aroma is somewhat faint but pleasant, with wheat, yeast, banana, citrus, and coriander.

Flavor is wheat, banana, bubblegum, orange peel, coriander and other spice, some caramel and chocolate. Pretty tasty.

Medium-light body with a fairly crisp palate. Refreshing and drinkable.

Tried on tap at the brewery tonight, 2 Dec 2009.

This is billed as a Belgian chocolate wit, brewed with TCHO chocolate and dark malts.

Small light brown head. Medium carbonation. Slightly cloudy dark brown in color. Smells faintly of chocolate, a little floral, spicy, some faint orange and coriander.

Starts fairly chocolately but not overly sweet, floral, some brown sugar. Coriander through the middle, some orange and slight bitterness (pithiness?) in the finish.

Creamy mouthfeel. Medium-light body. Alcohol quite moderate.
