It’s been an extraordinary and wonderful journey these past 21 years that all began at our Brewpub in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood. We celebrate our brewing roots with this West Coast-style IPA, a style that defined the brewing scene in 2000 and we bring it forward with a modern take using an abundance of new world hops. Our 21st Anniversary IPA speaks to our motto “Celebrate the Right to Be Original.” Enjoy!

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass. Knock off a point for indecipherable canning info.
L---Almost clear, medium golden color. Medium white head with low retention and very good lacing.
S---Sweet and full of fruit. Citrus & pine.
T---Citrus & floral notes.
F---Medium feel with decent carbonation.
O---It's quite good, but not great. I'd take another if you were buying.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Wander snifter. Aroma of straw and apricot with some kind of cookie. Tastes like coconut, maybe the Cashmere hop. Then peach and a moderately bitter finish. But the coconut lasts to the aftertaste. Warm and malty with a substantial body.
A little malty sweetness but quite sharp, like not quite ripe apricots. This is certainly a pleasant and highly drinkable hoppy brew. From the 12 oz can purchased somewhere in the Northwest. No date.

packaged late june, consumed july 25, so plenty fresh. love this brewery (best name in breweries), love some of their beers. this one, ok but not so much in the end.
L: from the can - very stylish, as befits the occasion.
S: very mild but nice. sweet citrus mostly.
T: kind of disappointing here. very little of the classic hop flavors i enjoy. some crackers/bread followed by bitterness but not much else. too bad.
F: nice, smooth. low-medium carbonation
O: ok but this is a tough category.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a light golden with nice clarity and transparency; fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are floral along with some hints of citrus. Some sweet orange cream. Some fresh bread. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. More floral notes. Hints of lemon. There's a nice amount of fresh grass. More crackers and breads in the mix. Moderate bitterness. Soft sweetness. Malts do their thing. Finishes dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid IPA. It ultimately might not be anything too crazy, especially for an Anniversary IPA, but it's still slightly unique, which I appreciate. It's refreshing and has an enjoyable pilsner vibe going on, likely due to the pilsner malts. It's definitely not bad or anything like that. It actually becomes more impressive and complex the more you get into it. It's enjoyable stuff.
