On-tap at 21A

A: The pour is an amber-orange color with a big white head on it.

S: A somewhat light nose with notes of spices, yeast, and lightly floral hops. There is an underlying bready quality to the beer as well.

T: Quite bready with a hint of creaminess to it at first. The same light yeast note is present in the flavor, providing a slight spice flavor. As the beer warms up, it has a bit of a corn flavor.

M: The body is light to medium with plentiful carbonation to the beer.

D: One of the better blonde ales that I've had, but still sort of a pedestrian beer.

On tap at 21st Amendment Brewery in San Francisco, CA.

Pours a hazy light yellow with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thick swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, earth, and grass aromas. Taste is much the same with grass, hay, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is simple, but tasty and easy to drink.

Serving type: on tap.

Tried on tap at 21st Amendment, 23 Dec 2011. Served in a shaker pint.

Small beige head quickly dissipates. Lightly carbonated. Clear light orange in color. Light grainy-husky aroma. A touch of sweetness is underlying, hint of yeast. Starts fairly grainy sweet. Becomes a bit astringent in the middle. Finish is moderately astringent-bitter. Light astringency lingers in the aftertaste. Medium body, light ethanol.

Not bad but seems a bit on the astringent side for the style.
