Copenhagen 20/6 2020. 75 cl corked and capped bottle from Vin de Table. Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Beige label with a small scared ghost.
Pours unclear amber with a small, off-white head, Bubbly. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet malty, caramelized sweetness, sweet fruitiness and tart, funky notes. Sweet caramel, cardboard, sugar. Citrus and unripe gooseberries. Cold stale coffee.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong, rough bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a bit unforgiving. Finish is tart and dry.
Quite up the alley with funky and tart beer with a bit of coffee on top. A bit rough around the edges and a bit flat.

Light pop. Not a gusher. Surprise! Lot number 2 bA 15.
White head. Amber copper color.
Earthy and spicy. Not sure if there is coffee in this or not, but I don’t taste it. A sharp medicinal flavor that I don’t like. Diluted cherry and caramel. Herbaly. Not a very enjoyable tome.

From Boxbeers. In Teku glass. Playing Super Furball. Bbf end of 2016. Very light feel, watery. Strongly funky, more than desiderable. Strong bitterness, but no hoppy fruitness. No coffee trace

Gusher 4 of 4 tonight. Sigh. Chestnut body with a foamy, soapy, khaki head. Aromas of well, hmm, let's see...coffee. Malt, coffee, brown ale. Every Flavor Beans. #Dany

The label on this one is very similar to the normal coffee ruby. The difference lies in the small black text "dark version" under the text "very bitter taste."
750ml corked and capped bottle poured into a matching Fantome tulip. The cork comes out with a loud pop and bubbles of carbonation start to stream out of solution. Had this bottle been any warmer, it surely would have gushed. The brew looks a muddy brown as it streams into my glass and collects looking more dark brown to almost black with a huge 4 finger khaki head that persists forever.
The aroma initially is a bit of a disappointment as all I get is carbonic/mineral character and vegetative aspects. As it breathes, some perfume-like coffee emits along with earth and char. Throughout the entire experience, it never really becomes good despite decanting this to try and degas it.
The taste is mineral filled and slightly fruity. Very bitter with char and resinous/oily cling. There is an earthiness to this and young green yeastiness that I just dont enjoy.
This is light bodied and excessively carbonated. In my opinion both these coffee ruby beers are a failure. Even after degassing this one, all i taste is minerals and the faintest note of coffee. I love Fantome but this is a turd.
