A 2022 bottle...cap says expiration date of 2027
A: Pours a burnt orange color. A bubbly white head tries to form, but instead recedes to a ring that sticks throughout.
S: Sour fruits of grapefruit and lemon. Some caramel apple spice, and wood lingering.
T: Like the nose, those sour fruits are up front and center. Pithy grapefruit, lemon and orange rind. Apple cider like, and a touch oak/woody with some vanilla sweetness. A tart acidity lingers, but its not over the top.
M/O: A medium body that is under carbonated, almost flat for me. Not hard to drink, especially for a not over the top sour.
I think more carbonation would put this over the top. I love that crisp and acidic bite for more Wild Ales/Sours. Which is just missing here. Age could be a factor there, but no other obvious signs of oxidation. Anyway, still very enjoyable, even if it doesn't reach that excellent level for me.

Copenhagen 27/12 2019. 75 cl bottle from Køl Beers Web-shop. Drawing of old barrel on the label. Simple and elegant.
Pours unclear amber with a small white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy, almost transparent layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Small sediments floating around. No lacing.
Aroma is sour-sweet and intense. Sweet currants with hints of nectarine. Tart gooseberries citrus, green apples. Light odor of vinegar rummaging in the background.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a strong sourness. Aftertaste is sour and slightly sharp. Lingers for a while. Sourish, vineous finish.
Apparantly De Rankes base beer which they use as an ingredients in other blends. A quite good base which stands up pretty well in it’s own right.

Finally got around to this one. Years old wood has made this quite a mixed fermentation. Still a bit stale but quaffable.Bottle from a store I don't think still exists.

2022 vintage
Dark burnished orange tone, copper orange, a finger of foam and spotty lace.
Aroma is citrusy grapefruit and lemon, light acidity.
Tart and tangy grapefruit, mild lemon and orange peel bitterness, dry oak in the finish. Chardonnay or Pinot Gris elements, a touch of white grape juice and a slight acetic note at room temp.
Medium bodied, creamy texture, moderate carb level.
Overall it’s a nice one, more balanced than Cuvee De Ranke.

A 750ml bottle with a best before date of 8th June 2021. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with pretty much no head other than some big bubbles that disappeared quickly, while leaving some sparse lacing.
Aroma: Tart, grape, apple, lemon, light funk, with notes of wood.
Taste: Sour, tart, apricot, grape skin, lemon, oak, slightly vinous and with malty notes.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with soft to no carbonation.
Overall: Aroma was nice, but having low to no carbonation I think affected it overall for me, as I tend not to fully enjoy sour beers without carbonation.

Bright amber, very low foam.
Smell of old basement, leather, dusty, and under that, malt and caramel.
In the taste a very strong sourness, and also astringency. White grapes, plum, tart fruitiness.
Wood and tannins.
Intense, and for sure, it leaves no one indifferent.
In the aftertaste a light sugary fruitiness, and then sourness, that cleans all, and astringency.
Well, if you like sourness, wow.

Bottle: Poured a flat clear pale brown color ale with no head. Aroma of oak and light cherry notes with some sour notes is OK. Taste is a mix of oak and cherry with stale sour notes. Body is light with no carbonation. I don’t get the fuss about that one; the limited carbonation and the sourness and acidity didn’t really mesh well together.

Not much of a head at all (not surprisingly). A darker amber color than most lambics. Smells of a musty cellar that is filled with fresh lemons. Slightly boozier than a lot of lambics, but not terribly - it just adds body. Without going into too many details (feeling lazy), let's just say that it's truly delicious! One of the most interesting lambics that are easily obtainable in California right now, to the best of my knowledge.
