I just sampled it from a bottle a friend brought home from Kazakhstan.
Brownish-dark color with white head. Relative mild, faintly roast smell. Nothing too fancy.
I was supprised by the taste. Thick and rich malty character. Sweetness and bitterness are well balanced and hints of roastiness shine through.
The beer reminds me of doppelbock but does not quite live up to that.
A nice and dark brew Worth drinking.

Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, this brown 1/2 liter bottle bears a silver, gold and red label with an eagle soaring behind the name. Sugar is an ingredient. Best before 9/14/06, I opened it on 4/5/06.

Pours a clear slightly reddish brown under a 1.5 finger tan head that fades quickly to collar, leaving no lace. The nose is full of sweet caramel, with almost a cola feel and a splash of grape. The mouth is very prickly and fairly sticky. Sweet grape or plum accompanies the caramel, both remaining strong from the opening through to the finish. A bit of espresso bitterness emerges late, but remains subdued. This is a decent brew, but too sweet for my taste.
