Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, the brown 1/2 liter bottle bears a gold, silver and red label including the trademark soaring eagle behind the name. Sugar is an ingredient. Best before 6/20/06, I opened it on 4/5/06.
Pours clear gold under a 1.5 finger white head that shows nice form before fading to film and collar, leaving some decent lace. The nose is raspberry sweet, and quite strong. The mouth is very prickly and slightly heavy. Expecting the worst, I was plesantly surprised. It's sugary sweet like grape soda, but with a bitter edge, which lingers in even proportion with the sweet well after the finish. It is great by no means, but it is not a drain pour.
