Brewed once a year apparently in tandem with a charity biking event for cancer in the area (known as the Dempsey Challenge), this is simply described as a "golden pale ale". It's a clear pale copper color with a fair creamy white head and similar lacing. The nose picks up a polite citrus hop and cereal grain and just a hint of sweet cardboard. The palate brings bright apple lemon over a light caramel wheat. Again I get a touch of the cardboard malt thing but it’s nothing disturbing and pretty much disappears after the midway point in the pint. The peppery hops are clean and tasty all presented in a medium-light bodied brew wIth a light, crisp feel. A sort of blonde bitter with nice hop quality, one of the better Gritty brews I’ve had.
