An intense, bitter porter with lots of coffee flavors. There is some sweetness deep down but the pleasures come from burnt malt and clean finish. A good creamy presence in mouthfeel but not too smooth; this is a beer that you have to meet on its own terms. Very good, although if you are eating, the strong porter flavors may be best suited for after the meal.
