A very successful Oktoberfest, particularly for a brewpub whose specialty seems to be English-style beers. A red lager with medium head. Generous maltiness is indicative of the style, and they have perfectly captured the elusive Fest spiciness that results from a marriage of deep malts and spicy hops (Saaz?). Makes for a very authentic, enjoyable, luscious Oktoberfest. To be sipped somewhat slowly, since abrasive alcohol flavors are present in large gulps.
