An early German ale, this full-bodied Düsseldorf style exhibits a rich mahogany color. Special malts imported from Munich lend an authentic malty note to this exceptional brew.

Growler. Poured a clear brown color with a medium off-white head. Very slight lacing. Aroma has some caramel and roasted malt to it. Flavor is pretty nutty and also has a bit of smokiness to it. Malty and bitter finish. It's a decent altbier. Might be better at the brewpub than from the growler.

Pours a clear, brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, wheat, caramel malt, and yeast. Fits the style of an Altbier. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, yeast, caramel malt, hint of pale malt, hint of biscuit, and a hint of oatmeal. Overall, weak aroma, but good feel, blend, body, and appearance.

On tap at the brewpub, served in a pint glass. Dark amber color, SRM of 10-14, with a thin white foam that laced all over the place.
The aroma was worty, which is a good thing as that's what I get out of most alts that I try. Malty and just a little roast. Same with the flavor, nice malty wort with just enough hops to keep it from being overly sweet. Nothing objectionable at all, pleasant stuff.
I preferred this to the IPA, and it would be my recommendation if I go back.

Their seasonal at the time. This one poured a nie golden amber with a small frothy head. Nice carbonation apparen throughout the session. The aroma was mostly bready malts but with a touch of sharp light fruit for contrast. Taste was crisp clean and refreshing. A nice dry and ho like finish. Overall this was not bad at all,not the normal altbeirs I have had but still a very sessionable light ale and went good with dinner. I would have to say this was a good call.

Pretty good seasonal. Lightly bodied and moderately flavored. Appearance of lightly caramelized malts with a light head and lacing. Light caramel flavor with malty tones and hop bitterness. A little more hoppy than expected, but not to offend. Clean tasting with a light phenolic flavor that I just cannot get over in the end.

The beer arrived at the table a medium amber with a low compact off-white head which laced the glass.
The aroma was slight and only hinted of nutty chocolate.
The flavor as slight nutty but was overly sweet. It was well balanced with nuttiness and chocolate flavors, but could have been more bitter.
The finish was dry with a lighering slight chocolate and bittering into the aftertaste. The body was medium.
Very easy drinking, but overly sweet and could definitely use some additional hop presence in the bittering.
