Growler. Average sums this beer up nicely. It's a decent easy-drinking local brewpub beer. No overwhelming bouquet or flavor, but goes down nicely with their excellent food. And as I said in the evaluation of Downtown Brewpub's (Knoxville, TN) review of their IPA, the atmosphere and the growlers - which are well-constructed and have Grolsch-style tops - are worth the trip alone.

This was the second one I got to try on my sampler. Looked a little light, golden amber with a smallish white head that gave way to thin lace with nice carbnation. Smell was very light yeast, fruity a touch actually with a nice wheat back. The flavor was crisp and clean with a very sharp cutoff. Almost like a Hefe, it had a nice balace of light earthy grain and a touch of peach or pear that gave it a little pop. Nice carbonation and very light feel. Overall this is an average beer, decent session ale, but average overall. Not bad with wings or on a hot day.

Better than most Blond Ales, because it's a Kolsch. Very clean and flavorful to be so light and airy. Definate pilner malt character that suppresses the grain flavors, allowing a mild fruity and sweet flavors to shine. Lightly carbonated and lightly alcoholic left a cool sensation on the toung. Very smooth and light drinking. Great for any occation.

The beer arrived at the table a crystal clear pale straw with a low white head.

The aroma was slight and what was present was crisp and fruity.

The flavor was sweet, overly so, almost to the point of being cloying, but then dried out over time.

The finish was off dry then finally crisp well into the aftertaste. The body was medium light.

All in all, this beer is way to sweet.

Clear golden yellow color. I can't get really much smell from it. It tastes crisp and refreshing. It's very light and goes down like water. Overall, it's a good, cold, refreshing Kolsch. My father, who hasn't drank much more than Bud his whole life, really enjoys this beer. It goes great with wings and summer days.

Draught. Supposedly superfresh.

Nose was faint, a bit of fruit, some grain.

Flavor is fruity, a bit sweet, with an odd skunkiness (sulphur?) to it that lingers and builds up on the finish.

Mouthfeel is light and moderately fizzy.

Not impressive, and Kolsch is generally one of my favorite styles.
