Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazed orange amber color with a two finger head of fizzy white foam. The head has great retention, slowly fading over time to leave lots of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is light overall. Some very light tropical fruit and some grapefruit hop. Along with these aromas are some hints of yeast and a little bit of herb.
Taste – The taste begins with a light bready taste that has some tropical fruit flavor notes mixed within. The grapefruit hop is the most pronounced from the start and remains the dominant hop flavor throughout, although it never becomes all that potent in nature. There are some herbal hop and a bit of pine that develop on the tongue toward the middle and the end of the taste, and with some yeastiness and a slight increase in the breadiness, one is left with a rather crisp and moderately hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. For the style a little higher carbonation and thinner body may have been slightly more fitting, but overall the feel was pretty decent.
Overall – A rather easy drinking brut IPA with a nice flavor profile. Clean and good.
