06/20/08- Consumed during my two week Montana vacation.
Presentation- Via the tap into sampler glasses.
Appearance- Clouded golden colored pour with a nice 1/2 inch head and chunky lace left behind.
Smell- Notes of smoke, clove, wheat and banana.
Taste- Pretty much the norm for an american made hefe. Light notes of banana, clove and bubble gum, but not the german quality you would expect. A touch bland with a interesting added bonus of a smokey peat flavor.
Mouthfeel- Medium carbonation level which is also creamy.
Drinkability- About what I expected, but the smoke made it quite different and interesting.
