750ml wax-top bottle picked up at Brix in Kalispell, MT
Poured into a Sunriver Belgian-style tulip
2022 vintage
P black with a tiny foamy tan head; looks good
N bold nose of dark chocolate, licorice, booze, and barrel; inviting
T profile is a continuation of the nose with dark chocolate, nuttiness, barrel, and licorice; light char bitterness in finish/aftertaste; nicely-balanced and really solid
Mf med-bodied w/ med carb; slick; not quite as thick as I typically prefer for the style, but it works pretty well here
O this one exceeded my expectations- a well-executed barrel-aged stout, imo; balanced, drinkable, and tasty

Many thanks to muchloveforhops3 for this bottle.
A - Dark brown (almost black) pour with dense Caramel colored lacing.
S - Chocolate roast char and a small hit of chlorophenol along with light Whiskey.
T - Chocolate roast, light char, oak and oak tannin, Whiskey, and light chlorophenol buried deep underneath (but eventually fades).
O - This is a solid Barrel Aged Stout!
