This bier (x2) was my nightcap during a session of quaffing with Alewife, Artied2 and his friend Kathy.
From the tap into a shaker pint glass, it poured a deep, dark chestnut hue. Topped by a thin, fine, tan head, it also aroused a bit of lace to stick around. Aroma gave off a smidge of semi-sweetness, some roastiness, and a mild addition of smokiness. It was a fairly smooth bier on the tongue, and the body was almost, but not quite, medium.
Flavor starts off with a roasty character, though not at all bitter. More semi-sweet, with a hint of chocolate also present. Hopping was exceedingly light, with only a suggestion of florality coming into play. The smoked aspect is subtle at first, but as the bier warms it becomes increasingly evident. An easy quaffer, and fairly good, overall.
Prosit!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
