Its clear, very dark copper body has a reddish cast and displays orange and crimson highlights beneath a long-standing head of creamy off-white foam that leaves some nice rings of lace throughout the pint. The nose is clean and welcoming with a lightly toasty and slightly fruity malt character. The body is full with a very fine and moderate carbonation that leaves it creamy in the mouth. The flavor is malty, deeply caramelish and toasty, with a distinct fruitiness and some grassy and lightly floral hops that help to add depth. The alcohol is kept in check and its solid bitterness strong-arms the caramelish malt into submission; leaving it to finish surprisingly dry.
