Amber in color with a 1/2" head that disappeared quickly to a surface foam. The aroma is of light malt and caramel. The flavor is very mellow, as malt, caramel, soft nuttiness, and only a hint of bitterness barely excite the tastebuds. Much thinner in body than other oktoberfests.
The mouthfeel is smooth and lightly syrupy at the start and finish. The caramel tones last briefly on the tongue after swallowing. Easily drinkable but little overall flavor and short on the enjoyment level.

Rather dark amber color. Smallish head which fades away almost completely.
Nose is ripe and rich, with a bit of caramel sweetness.
Taste is much the same as the nose, predominantly sweet but not cloying. I bit of spice, and lots of rich malty caramel, very smooth and mouthfilling.
Finish is clean and malty. Reminded me a bit of Sam's O-fest, but packed more of everything then Sams. Next to the ESB Valley Forge's best offering to date. I WILL be heading back for a growler. 2002 version
