Almost opaquely brown/black, with a grainy (in a good way) aroma - lots going on in the nose.
Neat brew. Starts out dryish, with a pronounced oatmeal oiliness followed by roast coffee flavors all over the place. They use wheat malt in this (as well as oats and rye) and these grains glavors do make it through the roast coffee maltiness. Not much going on here for hopheads. Very dry, eminently quaffable. An interesting stout, worth seeking out.
