A better than average bock beer, a strong 7.4 ABV,dark, German style bock. Exquisitely smooth!
Smooth and strong and the malty, dry flavour will not disappoint! Not many brewpubs offer a bock beer out of season, but this is a great treat. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the tempting treat of a fresh bock. (when available)

Pours a clear, but dark brown. At first the flavor seemed almost like fruit juice. It smooths out and becomes even after some time. Sticky and slick feel on the liquid with a low carbonation. Fairly easy to drink, but a bit too unbalanced on flavor and feel.

Dark red, or, light brown in colour with a small head of tan foam that dies quickly. This brew has an excellent aroma that consists of nice malts, caramel, chocolate, and slighlty herbal hops. The taste is a nice blend of hops and sweet carmel malts, but this brew is a little too sweet for my blood! The mouthfeel is medium bodied and nice, and the drinkability is good as well. A very nice version of a single bock!

Dark amber in color with barely an 1/8" head that disappeared within one minute. This brew had very little aroma - only some malt. The flavor was of big maltiness with a heaping of caramel, some mild nut and fruit, and alcohol was definitely noticable. Very tame on the hops as expected.

Smooth and crisp at the start, crisp and very dry on the finish. The tongue feels coated in malt for a bit. Not a bad drinking brew, very tasty but the alcohol warns of impending danger if you have several of these.

Dark, dark brown body and no head...but I've noticed that I rarely receive a beer with any sort of covering at the Lafayette, so perhaps it's just not a priority...

Light, breezy malts nose, which grows sickly sweet as it warms. I believe this is my first bock experience, however, so I don't have much to compare with.

Taste had a fruity overlay and a dry, tamarind-esque character. Chewy dryness. Caramel inlay. The more I drank, the more it seemed salty and sickly sweet until I was reminded of balsamic vinegar. It had an overall strong and pungent effect. Thick and wheaty mouthfeel.

I'd like to try this one again.

Pours a nice deep brown with a slight ruby tint, aroma is malty and doughy light sweetness.Taste is sweet in the first sip but after a few you notice a firm dryeness in the middle and ending to this one with a nice doughy backbone.Another good offering from GLI.
