Had this last night on cask, poured a medium brown with a light but creamy head, the aroma was very chocolaty and roasted.Unlike the other reviewer I found this beer to be as sweet as the aroma, very chocolaty taste with some caramel notes, not much earthiness to it though.A lighter bodied brown and very easy to drink, all in all a pretty good offering.

A hazy, deep-mahogany body with a reddish cast reveals chestnut highlights beneath a short but creamy head of ivory foam that holds well and leaves some spotty lace. The nose is malty and cocoa-ish with a light note of vanilla and some mild fruit, but its not overly sweet in any way. A note of alcohol is present as well, but it's not agressive and actually helps to balance the sweetness. The body is medium; and it's fine carbonation leaves it crisp on the tongue. The flavor is less sweet than the nose might suggest, and it's more chocolatey than cocoa-ish. The fruitiness is more evident as well, and a bit cherry-like. The alcohol remains, but it's somewhat masked by the richness of the malt. It's nicely balanced by a firm bitterness and spicy hoppiness that leaves it dry in the finish with just a short-lingering note of chocolate and some alcohol. Interesting. It's sometimes soft and sweetly malty, and other times somewhat akin to a liquor-filled chocolate-covered cherry.
