Dark red brown body and absolutely nothing for a head--totally naked brew. Nose was exceptionally light, of light sweet malts and nothing developing over time.
Taste was very good. This beer was described as a "hoppy fest lager" which got me feeling the Oktoberfestness--but it also could've been a pale ale in my book. Medium body of thick malts with a big layer of fruity cherry cider. Dark cherry dry liqueur. A dry, very woody finish, with dry notes of crackers (maybe graham?) and something flowery as well. Have I said the word dry yet? Low carbonation escorts in the bitterness, which develops to be mad bitter, and chewy. Dark chocolate bitter. Dry, toasty Oktoberfest grains develop as it warms.
Great feel and taste to this seasonal.
