A: Rich copper body, thick white head, good lacing on the glass
S: Grapefruit-citrus tones characteristic of Cascade hops... like another reviewer hinted, what about it is east coast?... i guess it doesn't have the abundant fresh piney character present in the west coast ipa's i've come to love
T: Much like the nose... caramel comes through a bit more than the aroma, otherwise much is the same.. grapefruit bitternes, some floral notes at the end
M: Smooth, medium body, nice bite
D: A good drinker... its almost a cross of an american ipa and a british ipa in terms of malt presence .. a good brew to enjoy at the Inn or at the new Tiedhouse

Hyped by my friendly waitress as the pale ale doubled for hops. Thusly introduced I'm up for an adventure. What unfolds is a great looking beer that has a light almost noble hop bite but with a touch of citric to bring it around and while not strong, buoy my dining choice.
worth a try.
Oct 14, 2008worth a try.

Served a medium amber colored beer with moderate white puffy head.
Smell has a demonstrable amount of citrusy hops present.
Taste combines the hop and malt nicely. Swett, but with enough drynesss to balance it weel without going too far.
Finish is a bit thin.
Easy to drink. Very flavorful.

Dark copper in color with a crimson tint and orange highlights. A very creamy bone white head tops it and hold incredibly well, leaving behind solid sheets of thick, creamy lace as it goes.
The nose displays a dark caramel maltiness that's not really sweet, just caramelish and a touch bready, and grapefruit (it's dry-hopped with Cascade even though it's "east coast").
The flavor follows suit with some soft, berry-like fruitiness from the yeast, a mild caramel-like maltiness, and spicy, leafy and grassy notes. It finishes dry with a little bit of spice, grass, and citrus rind.
In the mouth the cask-conditioning really delivers the creamy smooth feel that a medium-full bodied beer can deliver.
Very nicely done. Not overly hopped or bitter, just a straightforward IPA that reminded me more of England than it did New England. Worth trying.

Served at the General from the engine.
Appearance - A beautiful cascade ends and then opens to a dark tea color and a 3/4" bishop's collar.
Smell - Nose is malty and grainy.
Taste - Semi-sweet due to malt with tea and orange quality. Grainy taste and bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel and Drinkability - Very drinkable, round and smooth with again graininess in the finish.
Thanks Chris
