Near black with small creamy head that doesnt really show the nitro pour. Smell is of dark roasted nuts, burnt grains, pumpernickle, earthy and floral hops. Taste is a rather mild blend of the scent notes, a victim of the nitro pour which IMHO tends to dilute the flavor of a beer. Nice roasty, bitter taste. What was there was good, just mild. Medium bodied, lower leavels of nitro carbonation, bitter and dry on the back end. A good mild ale, perhaps negatively effected by the serving style.
