Big thanks goes out to the kind BA who sent me a growler of this gem. I had been dying to try this fest beer for a while and I was more then glad that I finally got a chance to. Served from a growler, cold, into several pint glass. This one was consumed on 10/03/2008.

The pour was very nice, your typical fest look on this one, rich orange tinted yellow with a great clarity to it. Nice touches of carbonation could be seen streaming up from the bottom of the glass throughout the session, really pushing the envelope here so to speak. A nice two inch head of white came up over the top and settled down gradually into the beer, leaving only modest side glass lacing in its wake.

The aroma was rich and malty. Hints of light spices coming throughout the smell, lots of caramel malts and tons of light bready grains. The flavor was more of the same. Rich, but very light with a nice balance between some earthy, resinous hops and a touch of caramel malts. Hints of grain sprinkled in throughout. Crisp, clean, and very refreshing, I had no issue at all with throwing this one down very quickly and spinning around to look for another right after that.

Overall this was a very solid beer. One of the better fest beers have had recently and something I would have no issue with trying out again. I would say go get this one while it is out, it is definitely worth it.

This makes for a really refreshing pint. It had a beautiful clear reddish amber colour and decent cap of foam. The character was malty and toasty, maybe some biscuit thrown in too. Bitterness was kept in balance and there was just a hint of fruit at the end. Medium bodied with crisp carbonation. Great stuff!

Served a clear medium copper color with modest tannish puffy head. Smell is of dark fruit with some roasted malt also presnet. Taste is notable for a strong malt character with barely a hint of hops present. Nice a and thirst quenching beer. Great drinkability. Could drinka bunch of these.

INtersting brew. Nice for an O-fest. I was impressed compared to other O-fests I have had recently. More people need to embrace this brew. Ithgink this is one of the best O-fest I have ever had.

Smells sweet. Has a nice deep amber color, nice bit of bone-colored head.

Matl is the name of the game in this brew. Honestly, this is rather refreshing. There is a hop prescent, but it is definately in the back round. I mean it is there, but not as a dedominate precence (as it should be). It has a nice, dominate matly presence. Solid and sweet. Buttery sweet, IMO. Some aclohol precnce in the aftertaste as well. It makes for a slightly heavy, but over all solid brew

go get some, you'll like it

Just released, this year’s Oktoberfest has a beautiful bright amber glow and a smooth creamy head. A bit more alcohol bite than this lager style generally produces, the roasted malt flavor quickly mellows the mouth feel. The nose is lush with caramel and clove while the first sip sends mild cinnamon and malt to the tongue. This beer will most likely get better with age, though the night I was there it didn’t look like it will last too long.

Beer consumed 8/31/04. Served from tap.

Beer was on the dark end of the scale for an Oktoberfest with a ruby cast. Beer was clear, with a lingering half inch white head. Nose was almost nonexistent-- no bready notes or sweetness, but completely free of faulty notes.

Flavor was lively for an Oktoberfest, but still a faithful representation of the style. Mouthfeel is rich, with a slightly alcoholic edge. Beer opens with an estery and sligtly metalic note that meets with mellow hoppiness. The middle flavors sweeten slightly, with the beer finishing slighly sweet, with a trace of hoppiness. Lingering notes grow sweeter as a second and third beer are enjoyed.

Just a real solid offering from a great brewpub, pours a deep copper color with a light head, aroma is lightly sweet and bready.I liked the subtle qualities of this beer so many "fest" beers are too sweet but this one has a nice malt profile with subtle sweetness alot of doughy qualities wich I like.Just a very easy to drink beer very nice.

Pours a nice deep amber color, with a decent off-white head which holds well then leaves a good lace. On the nose the aroma is of rich, toasty cara-munich malts, slighty biscuity, touch of caramel. There is decent carbonation and a pretty smooth, lightly creamy mouthfeel. On the palate more malt flavors, touch of caramel, light fruitiness, biscuity/toasty/, good hop present from the wiht hops from bavaria, a slight bitterness. Overall a very good O’fest.
