On tap at the General. Poured dark brown with a nice prickly beige head. Nose of subtle caramel malt, saaz hops (?), yeast. Extremely balanced flavor with some slightly fruity, yeasty elements, a good caramel malt base, and the hops. Really liked this one...I think I read that this is the brewer's favorite of all the GL beers. It's a highly sessionable, flavorful mild ale that was really well executed.

Note - This brew has been renamed "Griffin's Mild" in honor of the brewmaster's son...

A - No head, just a thin veil of lacing... A murky medium brown color... No carbonation to speak of... Very still...

S - A simple and mild aroma consisting of pale malts and caramel... Also some very subtle fruity notes... Not exciting, but quite enjoyable and textbook for the style...

T - Loads of doughy biscuit... Toffee.... Caramel... Buttery...

M - Somewhere between light and medium bodied... Thin and watery... Ultra silky... Ultra smooth... Consistent...

D - As quaffable as they come... I couldn't keep my hands off the glass and it was empty before I knew it... A tasty and enjoyable session brew if ever there was one....

Very clear and flat with no head, but I blame myself because I have had the growler in my fridge for a few weeks. Anyway, this style should have a low carbonation. Orange amber in color without any head. The aroma is very pleasant and subtle with a sweet caramel note peeking through and light fruity malts. The taste is light and smooth. Low bitterness just laps over the tongue while a touch of buttery sweetness remains in the throat. The body is a bit light and watery, but flavorful nevertheless. An easy drinking mild.

The beer pours an amber color with a thin white lace head. The aroma is decent. It boasts of pale and caramel malts with some hops. The taste is good. It has a good malt flavor that is sweet. There seems to be little in the way of flavoring hops, but the brew finishes dry. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied brew with good carbonation. This is a fine mild ale. It has a good flavor; an excellent drinker.
