Oct. 2007: 500 ml bottle, as RCH On The Tiles, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned. ABV is 4.0%. Deep golden to orange coloured beer, slightly hazy, low off-white head. Very nice hoppy aroma, notes of tropical fruits. The flavour has a nice balance between the malts (with a hint of caramel) and the distinct and grapefruity hops throughout. Hoppy finish and aftertaste, but not too bitter. Possibly inspired by American pale ales? Anyhow, I like it!

A - Pours a cloudy orangey-copper with a big mound of light tan head which sits atop meringue-like and retains forever. Plenty of streamers. Patches of lacing are left behind.
S - Caramel, toffee, tea, perfumed hops, grass, figs, dates.
T - Sweet, slightly syrupy malts kick off, with some raisins, dates and figs in the background. Dryness and bitterness comes through in the middle leading towards a caramel-tinged ending with a little rum-like note in the background.
M - Medium body and carbonation.
D - Very solid beer. I have a preference towards their other offerings, but this is very tasty and I would have it again without hesitation.
