From the 530 ml. bottle stamped 20/02/2026. Sampled Jan 1, 2026.
Awesome, perfect dark brown pour with soft mocha head that lingers for nearly the entire session.
The aroma is alive with dark roasted malts and char. I get a hint of grass that comes up right away but fades to the background in short order.
The main disappointment is that the body felt thin and lighter than I wanted it to feel. But the aroma and taste make up for this.
The taste is sweet roasted dark malts, a burnt sensation, with a modest bitterness at the end, which lingers briefly. Slightly dry. A quality Czech dark lager.

I picked this up from a local supermarket. From a tall dark brown bottle, the beer is a super dark brown color with ruby highlights. Wonderfully dense and light tan/off-white head. Nice aroma....dark, earthy, almost an aged spice scent, dark malt, grain. Nice. Coffee in the flavor...dark roast. Balanced, medium-full in body. Wonderful.

Great looking beer. Deep dark brown with slight hints of red.
Smells of dark fruit and fig. Very subtle coffee notes.
Taste runs right in line with the smell. Deep rich coffee and dark fruit notes with subtle coffee. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but good.
Overall I really like this one. Very complex and rich flavors. Amazing nose and a taste that runs right in line with it. Very solid beer.

$9USD for a single bottle, but I'll try to let that not influence my score.
I have Schilling Karlův 13° available locally and fresh, but I'll try to let that not influence my score.
This stuff is okay. A bit of sour-ish smell on the nose that comes through the flavor. Fairly minor but distracting.
Otherwise, it's to style and pretty decent.

500ml brown bottle. Label is stamped for the best by date of '15/01/2026'.
Dark brown colored body. Creamy, beige colored head, which maintains as a full cap. Residual foam leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma of dark toasted malts, chocolate, and a bit of dark fruit.
Taste is malty, with flavors of dark bread, chocolate, treacle, nuts, and a bit of coffee. Slightly bitter at the end. Aftertaste includes all flavors.
Medium mouthfeel. Bitterness goes to molasses mixed with sugar. Coats the mouth and tongue. Excellent carbonation.
Great carbonation and sweet flavors mixed with dark bitterness.

500ml bottle. Poured out a dark brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It left sudsy tails of lace. It smelled of roasted malt, caramel and toffee. Nice toasty flavor with some coffee and chocolate.
