A solid beer -- especially impressive considering that Boyne City is on the edge of nowhere.
A less-than-starbucks slight mocha coffee aroma. Mouthfeel is like ice -- sharp. It's more or less the standard micro-brew stout profile -- dry, coffee, chocolate. Smooth on the backend, not too much "beer" aftertaste.
I don't recall how much I paid for this, but it's not too expensive, and the 6-packs come in a simple, but unique, corrugated cardboard box. It's a good pickup for something different. They apparently have a pub on the premesis of the microbrewery. So if you're ever heading up to the Boyne/Walloon Lake/Petoskey area of Michigan, I guess you can check it out -- maybe try it on tap. Never been myself.
