I had this delicious beer numerous times a year ago as part of the taster-rack at the Big River Brewing Company in Richmond, BC. It was smooth, the coconut flavour in a beer was new to me at the time, and it wasn't so sweet that it was overpowering or gave me those sugar-induced headaches.
It's a real shame that I found out, only today, that this seasonal offering will not be coming back, as the brewmaster that created this particular recipe is no longer with the company.

I was surprised to see this as I thought it was an entry in a brewing competition.
Datky ruby with a weak, cola like head. Roast malt and a definite cocount presence. It smells very similar to their stout, and maybe this is even based off the same receipe (wouldn't it be a coconut stout then?). Taste is definite coconut, reminiscent of a Bounty bar. It see-saws betwen this and a dry, roasted malt taste. A little too unbalanced, but not horrible. Not as smooth or rich as Swan's, but this is still a solid, tasty beer. Could make a good session beer and I think this would go great with dessert.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
