Slightly hazy (bottle conditioned), Light brown in color with a crimson hue. The light tan head is thin and fluffy, and cannot hold. It reduces to a limited collar and gives no lace. The aroma displays a light, sweet malt character with some yeasty mustiness and a very slight fruitiness. The body is medium with a gentle effervescent carbonation, giving a light spritz on the tongue and a good creaminess in the mouth. The flavor is mainly of a softly sweet malt with some dark crystal and a light chocolate, as well as a gentle spice with licorice. The alcohol is well hidden in the sweet body and shows itself only in the swallow. The finish is fairly short and sweet - slightly sticky but not cloying. Overall, this beer is quite sweet but light in flavor; not complex, but enjoyable with certain foods or as an apertif or nightcap.
