$ 3.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.188/oz). Purchased 4/13/20 at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 4/23/20.
“02/14/20” stamped on bottom front of label. Canned or BB? In reefer at store. Stored upside down at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), slight haze.
Body – Light gold (SRM 4), opaque. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Small (Maximum one cm, aggressive center pour), off white, high density, rapidly diminishing to a one mm crown and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – Fair. Narrow rows of tiny bubbles, connected by medium columns.
Aroma – 3 – Too faint initially to detect, no malt, no hops, no yeastiness. As it warms, citrus blossoms appear.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins moderately bitter with a resinous taste and a bit of grapefruit on the aftertaste. No alcohol (7 % ABV marked on the label) taste or aroma. No diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3 – Medium, watery, moderate carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Actually a nicely bitter weak grapefruit IPA, unfortunately one that I suspect will cause gastric distress after a couple. Label is a simple cartoon and has only the basic info of volume (Duh!), style, and ABV.
