Pours a honey brown color with a tight creamy head.
The aroma is of smoke and has some meaty characteristics.
The taste is again of smoke, with charred beef, a bready honey malt and light lemony tea like flavors.
Moderate body with fizzy carbonation which lead to a crisp feel.
A get a little nervous with smoked beers using lighter malt but this one worked well. Nothing fantastic but very solid.

A: deep amber in color, impressively clear, with small bubbles floating lazily to the surface.
S: I was really expecting more here. Only a few wisps of smoke and caramel are perceptible.
T: Aaaah, there it is. This brew is well attenuated, and well smoked. Caramel, honey, and praline go nose to nose with the iodine seaweed like smoke that I love.
M: light, clean, and tickling from the co2.
D: this is a delicious rendition of their usual brew. Definitly worth checking out if you're a fan of islay whiskey, or smoked beers in general.

Growler from Village Beer in Buffalo.
A - Poured a nice amber colour, translucent with a yellow/orange glow.
S - Smell of hickory smoke and some light bready malts.
T - In your face hickory smoke. Tastes like someone put a bunch of liquid smoke in to an amber ale, which drowns out all of the malt flavours. Disappointing palate.
M - Light body, moderate to heavy carbonation.
D - Couldn't even get through a quarter of my pint glass. Drain pour.

On-tap at Willard's, somewhere in Pinellas County, Florida.
A - Murky tannic hue, a little hazy, no real head or lace. Not offensive, but not attractive either.
S - I am getting a sort of burnt caramel and sweaty hop fusion, compounded by an aroma, or shall I say odor, of smoke. The smoke is not dominant, it is just an unwelcome addition. It doesn't meld at all, which is strange because Scottish Ale is frequently a tad smoky.
T - There is not much to say about this world-class underwhelmer. It is just very unsavory. Where it could go wrong, it did. It tastes like a low-quality bock of some sort that has been spiked with Liquid Smoke.
M - The beer is fairly thin, which in this case is a good thing. I wouldn't want this flavor sticking around.
D - This beer is a very clumsy concoction. It theoretically should or could be good. But it isn't.
