Appearance: Fairly dark for the style, mahogany-tinted at the edges. Good lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Sweet malt aroma.
Flavor: At first taste, very malty, sweet beer, lightly balanced with hops. The second drink I took it seemed lightly acidic at the end. As I continued to drink it, the sour acidity became more and more prominent, coming to dominate the beer by the time I finished.
A very very odd Alt. The acidity is not typical, and detracts if one considers it as a German altbier. I'm a fan of sour beers, and I think this lightly sour beer would go quite well with acidic, vinegary foods. Though I like it, I'm marking it down for not matching altbier characteristics.

Medium dark brown color with little head. Not much aroma, a faint dry dark malt.
Taste is a dark roasty malt, chocolate malt and a hint of soap. Initially dry, finishes mildly sweet and malty. Soapy flavors become more dominant towards the end of the glass.
