I'm guessing at the style here since the most descriptive term I got out of the staff was simply "cask ale." Pours light and cloudy with a large white head. Lighter than an amber, almost appears as a witbier (in more ways than one). Faint citrus aroma along with some mild wheat.
Taste is slightly sweet and lemony, again reminiscent of a witbier. Biscuity, fresh yeast flavors with a light malt sweetness. Overall, it comes very close to a real fresh Hoegaarden.
Light mouthfeel, light taste and a delicate carbonation. A really good, well-maintained cask that's available year-round.
