500 ml, BB reads 08. February 2011, into tulip. Pours medium beige head with good stickage atop of dark brown body with garnet highlights and good clarity. Initial, rapidly vanishing aroma of noble hops with herbal character is entirely displaced by light Munich-like malt with caramel and nutty notes.
Not to sweet Munich-like malt flavor with bitter chocolate quickly followed by noble hops and accompanying moderate hoppy bitterness that lingers into the semi-dry finish. The aftertaste is mild roastiness and hoppy bitterness. No fruity esters whatsoever, as it should be. Light to medium bodied with rather low yet somewhat sparkling carbonation and slight astringency in the aftertaste.
