Poured from talll can.
Look: Almond / toffee color with thick tan head that quickly dissipates to thin top layer.
Smell: sweet nose with notes of banana, caramel, cedar.
Taste: Mild sweetness with banana and caramel. Brown bread, light vanilla, very slight bitterness on a sweeter finish that doesn’t linger.
Mouthfeel: creamy and full, light effervescence.
Overall: very enjoyable, nice after dinner beer. Great mouthfeel and nice sweetness. Nothing overpowers. Sessionable.

From the large can from Aldi, it pours a very nice hazy brownish color with a light tan head that lasts. In the nose, it is a bready caramel scent. In the mouth, it is the same, with a very nice mouthfeel and no significant after taste.

Appearance: Deep amber brown, tending towards mahogany, opaque to light, crowned by a massive, dense, and fine-beaded tan head, with superb retention. A thick and unbroken sheeting of lace coats the glass wall.
Aroma: Notes of dark bread, bananas, and cloves dominate the aroma. The aroma is very much like that of a classic Hefeweizen , but with the dark bread notes. There is a faint hint of bubble gum.
Taste: Begins with mildly sweet dark malt notes. As the taste progresses, there are notes of cloves and spicy alcohol. Later, the cloves dominate, but notes of toasted dark bread, and also faint earth present. There are also faint hints of alcohol, and a mild warming sensation. Little to no hop presence is noted, with just slight herbal flavors, difficult to perceive. Finishes with a slight burst of spicy sweetness.
Mouth feel: Very smooth and mellow, full, and with the barest hint of carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Very drinkable, would pair well with roasted meats, and alone, on any cold, dark Winter's day, like this one.
Presentation: Packaged in a sixteen point nine ounce (500 ml) aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
Note: My can reads "Hefeweizen Dark", although I expect that this is the same beer. Coding on the bottom of the can reads: "P 209/27 E 2018/11/21.

Another from this brewery made available to the U.S. via Aldi Stores. It appears to be a seasonal or rotating offering -- special for December, according to the Aldi web site. Oddly, the beer doesn't appear on the Feldschlößchen web site.
Canned on and best by dates on the can's bottom side: Canned 09/27/17. Best by 11/21/18. Also strange that every Feldschlößchen can brought in by Aldi is the same identical purple color with the brand label -- no matter the beer style. Confusing.
Poured into my Libbey Weizen glass.
L -- Hazy brownish copper with a dense, light tan head that sticks around and leaves nice lacing.
S -- Light clove and banana with toasty malt back.
T -- Spicy, clove and light vanilla notes up front with mellow, bready malts accented by wheat malt. The spiciness lingers thru the aftertaste into the finish with sweet malts following along.
F -- Mouthfeel is soft to crisp with a light-medium body.
O -- A very nice Bavarian Weißbier -- from the northeast of Germany! The all around character of this beer reminds me of the last Erdinger Dunkelweizen I had, but maybe more fresh. Worth a try if you've been wanting to sample a Dunkelweizen.
