This is a first for me: A brewery that brews 4 different PILS!!! Glückauf is definitely something spezial in this reich but I couldnt wait to see the differences. Two of them I had trouble distinguishing the differences, both were fantastic regardless of there very subtle differences. One is a Kräusen Pils and the other was average (as in better than the biug guys but not the best).
First up was the average Pils. Goes by the name Edelpils. Much milder than the others and I think that was their intention. It pours up medium to fine bubble head leaves a little lace. The color is straw yellow and is brilliantly clear. Up front I picked up some diacetyl of the caramel sort but nothing overwhelming. Behind this I found a nice malt character with sharp spicy hops. Hints of sulfur are to be found. It begins mild and is balanced well between sweet and bitter. Not much for hops are to be found and although very drinkable it really leans toward a Helles in the flavor department although lacking the body. Very good Bier and although the weakest in the 4 Pils line up most breweries would be lucky to brew to such quality.
Zum Wohl!!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
