Altenauer Brauerei GmbH "Altenauer Harzer Pilsnener"
,3L on tap
Notes: "The finest Tettnang aroma hops, brewing barley from the Wöltingerode monastery's own fields, selected malts and the fresh Harz brewing water determine the unmistakable taste with an alcohol content of 5.0% vol."
Look: Crystal clear gold body beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. Excellent head retention and lacing.
Smell: Fresh and clean with grainy and grassy Pilsner malt and grassy, herbal and spicy hops. Surprisingly bright hop character.
Taste: Lightly sweet and grainy Pilsner malt with herbal, grassy, and spicy hops. Boldly bitter with a dry, lingering, spicy finish.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp with a seemingly natural, fine-bubbled carbonation at standard level (2.5-2.6 vol./litre).
Overall: This is a newer beer from the Altenauer brewery and it seems they're embracing modern beer culture by adding more hops. The excellent head retention and lacing, as well as the mouthfeel, indicates that it's quality brewing all around.
