This is a wonderful-looking brew. Poured from a tall aluminum can, it is a deep brownish, ruby-copper color with an enormous, firm, off-white head. The aroma has a light caramel and chocolate scent. Modestly sweet in taste, a soft malt flavor is central to the beer. This is clean, straightforward, flavorful, and enjoyable.

Clear copper appearance with a medium size off white head that left good lacing. Caramel malts prominent in the aroma along with hints of pecans and nougat. Moderately sweet taste of toffee bouncing off the richness of the malts. A subtle nuttiness, picked up in the aroma, sticks around. The focus stays on the malts while the hops remain in the background. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours brownish amber color with almost no head. The head fades super-fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a roasted brown bread smell mixed with notes of caramel and wheat bread. Along with these aromas comes a bit of apple and a touch of smoke.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet toasted bready and slightly sweeter caramel and molasses flavor. There are notes of apple, cherry and plum in there as well. As the taste advances a bit of wheat and grain that develops, while the roastiness gets lighter. Toward the end, there is an increase in the sweet, leaving a moderately sweet and lightly roasted bready taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew moderate in thickness and creaminess with a slightly lower carbonation. For the mix of light roast, lower abv, and sweeter tastes the moderateness of the brews feel is rather nice.
Overall – A slightly sweeter but rather flavorful and easy drinking brew. Rather pleasant.

Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Real nice mahogany like brown and red, with lighter chestnut colors along the edges. Nice rich and frothy khaki head, reaching an easy three fingers, with some suprising retention also. Settle to a fine puck and tall collar with a hint of lacing, making for a surprising pretty looking dunkel.

Nose is crisp and filled with excellent touches of clean minerality and light toffee like aromatic grains. Exceptional clean aroma but hints slightly wet and just really light bodied which isn't a surprise at the advertised low abv.

Quite a nice palate. Light hints of sweet toffee and caramel, with a super clean finish. Lots of herbal and almost licorice like bitterness on the finish, which brings and excellent sweetness to the palate as well. Clean and real nice light bodied but very supportive , flirts with cola sweetness which hints at almost soda character.

Really hits the mark between mass market sweetness and traditional classic flavors.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, dark, dark brown color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of caramel, toffee and sweet maltiness. Sweet malty lager with chocolate, toffee and caramel. Minimal bitterness.

From the pint can, it pours a clear reddish brown color with a modest off-white head that soon diminishes to a ring. The nose gets a dose of sweetish malt with a touch of caramel. The mouth gets an overlay sweet noticably caramelly malt brew.
