Poured from can, the body is the expected opaque black. A small head that quickly dissipates. Very light lacing.
Aroma and flavor feature a light toasty malt. Notes of crackers and light caramel. Very mild hop presence at finish that lingers a bit.
Mouthfeel Is medium with a light coating after swallow. Carbonation is good.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly opaque, black color with a small tan head of fluffy foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Sweet chocolate taste with caramel, toffee and roasted coffee.

Picked up a single pint can. No date on can.
Pours a clear, dark brown in color with hints of amber when held to the light and a finger thick, foamy off-white head on top that leaves some lacing on the glass as you drink. Carbonation looks average, or perhaps a tick above, with medium sized bubbles rising up. Looks as expected.
Aroma is smokey, roasted malts, yeasty doughiness and some earthy pine and lemon hoppiness. Not an overly pungent aroma, but perhaps it will open up a bit more as it warms.
Taste follows the aroma well with a lovely roasted maltiness up front, even some hints of chocolate or coffee in there, followed by grassy, lemon hoppiness that builds on the tongue as it sits. Finishes with lingering roasty bitterness. Fairly balanced for the style. Simple, but effective.
This one drinks medium bodied with fairly light, zesty carbonation with some prickliness on the swallow. It has an excellent body that provides a hint of chewiness. Drinks clean and finishes pretty crisp and dry. Easy drinker and pretty refreshing.
This is a quality schwarzbier. The flavor profile is pretty simple but well done. It's probably just under Kostritzer for me in a style I quite enjoy. Prost!

500mL can pour a medium to dark brown, lighter than most in the style. Small amount of off white head that fades to a ring. Not a lot of aroma, vague malt odor. Decent roasted malt flavor, but not as much char as I've come to expect from the style. medium body and the carbonation seems a bit low.
This beer is okay, but unremarkable.
