Pours a deep, but transparent, mahogany brown with light foam. Smell is strongly malt, but with overlay of hops. Flavor is malty, lightly caramel, with hops only really appearing in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is very smooth with only light carbonation.

Appearance: Dark brown, frothy khaki color head with excellent retention.

Aroma: Bready, toasty, caramelly.

Flavor & Aftertaste: Sweet but balanced. Toasted bread and caramel with a hint of tartness or maybe dried dark fruit. Restrained bitterness.

Mouth-feel: Full bodied, moderate length finish.

Overall: Solid offering. Quite poundable- almost Dunkel-like but watch the higher ABV. Gives an impression of sweetness but nowhere close to Doppelbock level. I also note a slight tartness that @hoppingmadmonk did. It's barely noticeable and not offensive at all. Could be described as dried dark fruit-like. Don't let that discourage you from trying it if you like Dark Bock beer.

Clear real dark cherry wood appearance with a thin but lasting head
Light carbonation with a medium body
Aroma is malt, toast, sour plum, and fruit cake and I mean that in a good way.
Taste has a mild sweetness, toast, roasted grain and a bit of fruit cake.
Had more than enough going on to keep me interested, would look for it again

From the half liter can in the 2024 Biergarten Collection from Costco, it pours a clear mahogany color with a light tan head that diminishes to a nice layer and leaves some lacing. The nose gets bready malts with some caramel. The mouth follows with a pleasant roasted malt flavor with minor caramel notes and some bitterness. Mild bitter aftertaste.

500 ml can coded "P: 07/05/2024 E: 07/11/2025 15:05:17 15"
$59.99 / 24 can - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a dark brown body beneath a finger's width of creamy tan foam. When held to the light you can see that it's clear with some reddish, orange, and dark golden highlights. It's malty, caramelish, and toasty in the nose. The taste is similar with additional breadiness that's like both white bread, dark bread, and toasty bread crust. It's sweetish with caramel and a drizzle of honey, but also balanced by the toatiness and some herbal and floral hop notes. It has a suggestion of dried dark skinned fruits as well. The alcohol is completely hidden but at just 6.7% it should be. A moderate bitterness keeps it in check and it finishes mainly dry with some minor maltiness fading to leave the herbal hops behind. In the mouth it's medium bodied, gently crisp, and then creamy. If there's a fault to this beer it's the head retention and lacing, although the head retention is more of an issue. As malty as it is it should be better but it drops rather quickly and then leaves only minimal lacing. That's probably due to the alcohol, despite it not being that strong, but the head should hold up better. On the other hand, it does have a bit of a moderate carbonation which goes towards a better mouthfeel and will limit the head retention somewhat. All in all I think it's a winner based on its great flavor and mouthfeel.

500 ml can from Costco's Biergarten Collection.

Appearance. Clear, dark, orange-brown body with a fairly good beige head.

Mouthfeel. Smooth, near medium body but with some bite (ABV + acidic?).

A malty, mild (excepting the feel) Dunkel that would work fine as an accompanying a meal.

This is in Costco's Biergarten collection, a box that I think replaces their beer advent calendar. In past years, some beers were repeated, but I think all in this box are new to me. This beer has a bit of a rough mouth feel, and I'm not a fan of the taste, but it is drinkable.
Dunkel and bock are among my least favorite beers, so no surprise.
