A flavor profile of honeyed malt, fresh-baked breads and subtle floral hops. Balancing the bitterness of the hops with smooth malt sweetness and a warm satisfying finish.

Very clear gold/very light amber appearance
Carbonation and body seems to both be a bit below average but still an overall nice feel
Aroma is apple, brown sugar, malt, toast and cereal
Taste stays close to aroma
Overall its a very enjoyable beer

Poured from a can into a pilsner glass.

Look: Straw in color with a frothy, white head. Good head retention and great lacing.

Smell: Spicy and bitter hop aroma. Citrus. Maybe a very light honey sweetness.

Taste: The taste follows the nose, but with much more malt character. Slightly bitter and a touch dry.

Feel: Light-Medium body and ample carbonation.

Overall: I don't believe that i have every had a beer of this style. The light bitterness and sweetness caught me off guard, but I quite like it. This would be good during the transition from summer to autumn.

Pours a golden orange/amber color with a medium head and not much aroma and what there is, is bready malt. I love German beers, and this is a good one. BOD4-1-2025

The next German beer is an Export. I am using a Pokal glass and serving the beer at 48 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, foamy, two-fingered, white head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left lacing chunks on the glass. The beer is pale amber with light straw yellow hues, clear, and has an SRM of 4. The beer's appearance is pleasing to the eye.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of crackers, lightly toasted malts, floral esters, minerals, resin, herbal notes, white pepper, and grassy notes.
The flavors start with crackers, lightly toasted malts, and a floral bouquet. Sipping the beer again, I notice bread, grassy, dew, herbal, white pepper, cloves, resin, and limestone notes.
The mouthfeel is astringent, finishing soft and spicy. The body is medium-light and medium-carbonated.
Final Thought: The Export has a potent spicy hop kick than I was anticipating. The hops are spicy, adding depth and character to the overall beer experience. The beer was tasty and a fantastic finish to a busy day.

Privatbrauerei Eibau i. Sa. GmbH "St. Marienthaler Klosterbräu Export"
500 ml can coded "P: 10/06/2025 E: 10/12/2026 11:24:38 10". Sampled on 30 October 2025
$59.99 / 24 can - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE

Notes via stream of consciousness: A clear deep golden body is capped by a thumb's width of bright white foam. The aroma is lightly spicy, herbal and grassy. The taste follows with a sweetish and grainy malt base dominating the grassy, herbal, and spicy hops. There's a little fruitiness to it as well, and some floral character towards the finish. A median bitterness level leaves it sweeter up front but then mainly dry in the finish with some earthiness and spiciness lingering gently. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp with a very fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation. All in all this is a very well-brewed, well-balanced, and well-rounded lager.

Classic lager clear gold, minimal lacing and head. Very drinkable. Great balance between malt and hops that weren’t forward but had distinct character. From the 2025 Costco 24x sampler canned 5/13/25. I would buy this again.

From the pint can in the 2025 Biergarten Collection from Costco, it pours a clear yellow golden color with a modest white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets some light hops and light malt. The mouth gets a slight earthy bite along with the malt and it leaves a mild earthy aftertaste.

Clear golden amber brew with abundant foam in the Troubadour tulip. Pleasing aroma of fresh hay and herbal hops. Mouthfeel is bright and spritzy with a lovely creamy carbonation. Taste is malty and warm with just a touch of sweetness. This seems to nicely fit the Export Lager style with the malty flavors of a Helles and the lovely spicy Euro hop aromatics. Overall this is yet another excellent beer from Eibau and a great example of a German Lager. From the 500 ml can in the Costco variety box.
