Appearance: clear gold to light amber color with a modest head that dissipates fairly quickly; lacing is inconsistent
Aroma: malty and bready with light floral notes, complemented by subtle hints of banana, clove, and mild citrus
Taste: grain-forward malt profile with notes of bread and light fruit such as banana, orange, and apple; balanced by mild sweetness and a slightly dry, gently bitter finish
Mouthfeel: medium-bodied with moderate carbonation; generally smooth with a slight creaminess
Overall: a balanced and approachable bock with a pleasant malt character, though lighter and less robust than traditional examples; enjoyable but not particularly distinctive

Poured from a can into a tulip glass.
Look: Thin head. Dark yelllow. Poor head retention and lacing.
Smell: Rich. Strong malt backbone. Slightly bready. Citrus (orange?). Moderate amount of hops.
Taste: Drier than tne nose. More citrus. Quite bitter. Bready.
Feel: Medium body with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I wanted to like this based off of the nose, but i found the taste to be a bit meh. It's ok.

Pours a darker golden color with a large head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is malt, yeast & mild hops. Taste is the same with a smooth mouthfeel. Good German Bock beer. BOD 4-1-2025

nice color. Aroma has harsh note. mouthfeel is good but their is an off taste in flavor. taste problems could be due to it being in a can rather than a bottle.

Name: ST Marienthaler Bock
Brewery: Privatbrauerei Eibau i. Sa. GmBh
Location: Eibau, Germany
Style: Bock
ABV: 6.7%
Canned: 04 January 2025
Date: 17 November 2025
The last ST M beer in the box is a bock. I am using a tulip glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy two-fingered, white head with stellar retention. The slow dissipation left lacing chunks on the glass. The color is golden with light straw-yellow hues; the clarity is hazy, and charts at SRM 4. The beer's appearance is above average for this style.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of grains, lightly toasted malts, floral esters, a grassy note, banana, and malty sweetness.
The flavors are floral, grassy, bready, lightly toasted malts, phenol, banana, and big malty sweetness.
The mouthfeel is creamy, finishing somewhat sticky. The body is medium-light and medium-plus-carbonation.
Final Thought: A delightful Bock, I was hoping this was darker with a heavier malt body. The last Bock I had out of the box was like this one, lighter in color, and had a decent malt body. Overall, it is easy to sip and goes down quickly.

Here is another Bock from Eibau in addition to the Dunkel Bock. This one pours a handsome clear amber with plenty of foam in the Brigand chalice. the mouthfeel is the classic German creamy feel with a soft, pervasive carbonation. In other words, just what you look for. Pleasant cereal aroma with hints of orange and grape. The flavor is malty with a moderate sweetness. Tastes fruity and bready with that odd note of alcohol and spice typical of Maibocks. Overall this is quite a pleasant stronger beer to sip. From the 500 ml can included in the Costco case.

Notes via stream of consciousness: I was wondering what type of bock this might be, and upon pouring it its clear deep golden body tells me that it's a helles bock. The head is a finger's width of white foam that seems to be holding well. In the nose I'm getting a candy-like fruitiness, some floral hops, and malt. The taste is not as malty as I'd imagined it would be, but it's still malty enough. How strong is it? 6.7%? Yeah, that makes sense. It's fruity, grainy, bready, and lightly floral. I find the fruitiness to be like sweet red berries, red grape, and apple. I prefer a cleaner lager with less fruitiness but it's not bad. The bitterness balances the malt nicely and it finishes dry with some bready malt eroding quickly to leave a little bit of fruitiness and a smear of hops behind. In the mouth it's medium bodied on the high end, and gently crisp and then smooth across the palate. It's not the best helles bock I've ever tasted but that's certainly not going to keep me from finishing it!

In the past, memory is that bocks were unpleasant. This was ok, not unpleasant, As another reviewer said, it doesn't stand out in any way. Not bad but not especially good either.
The 2025 Biergarten Collection from Costco last year had some that were bad. Not bad enough to pour out, but bad enough to mix with a better beer to drink. So far this year's box hasn't had any I call bad. Some not good, but none actually bad.

From the pint can in the 2025 Biergarten Collection from Costco, it pours a clear light amber color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a slightly sweet scent of malt - not overly pleasant. The mouth follows with a sweetish, malty, brew that drinks easily. Hoestly, it doesn't stand out in any one area.

Smells of bananas, cloves
Clear golden color
Medium mouthfeel
Medium carbonation
Taste of bananas, cloves, coriander
Overall not what I had expected as a bock. I expected a dark beer and taste of caramel, roasted malts and I don't get any of that. Seems to be mislabeled.
