I loved the way this beer looked, reddish with a small but sticking head and lots of lively carbonation. The smell was sweet--honey and caramel--but with a sort of harsh smoke undertone, and that carried into the taste.
The taste elements of sweet and peppery/roasted/bitter aren't bad on their own, but together they created something of an unpleasant aftertaste, and the mouthfeel was sort of oily and rough around the edges. Not the best beer but not too shabby.
