look: 3.5 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.25
It's black as night with a decent creamy head. Tastes and feels too creamy, with the added sweetness of lactose turning me off a little. There are nice smells/flavors of coffee, roasted barley and chocolate, but the sweetness and hop profile overpower those delicious flavors. Decent body, but the creaminess and masked malt flavor makes it feel much lighter than it is.

Sample at a tasting. Deep, dark brown. Some hints of roasted malt on the nose. Coffee, chocolate, and a little lactose sweetness roll over the palate. Not overly roasty for a porter, but still smooth and at only 5%ABV, it's highly drinkable.

A - dark but thin looking with a little, quickly dissapating foam
S - nearly no smell at all, faint smell of toasted, warm nuts
T - malty but thin and a bit bland. a vague flavor of sesame
F - strong but small bubbles
Overall, the beer looked like a good, strong cream porter, but was too thin and bland. The flavors and smells were just not saturated enough. It's totally drinkable, but just way too meek for a cream porter.

Was slightly disappointed after drinking this beer. It wasn't as dark as I was hoping for and the flavor wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting. But still not a bad beer at all, just not as good as I was expecting

I liked this pretty well, but don't remember liking it half as much as the double dark, although it's been awhile. Silky feeling porter, sweet from milk sugar, not real heavy in the roast, and pretty darn drinkable with an only medium body. Velvety and smooth on the palate, only just enough bubbles. Dark chocolate, good whipped cream, and black barley are all there, and it tastes really good. I like the use of lactose not in a stout, a slightly lighter sweeter beer really shows w hat it can do for flavor integration and texture. This is very well made and a little different from other porters in the area.

A: [3.75] Pours black with little to no light penetration. Forms a nice 1/2 finger khaki head. There are nice arcs of lacing as the beer is sipped. The head sticks around for the whole session. The bottle lists the ABV (5%) but does not list the born on date etc.
S: [4.00] Strong smell of roasted malts. Also getting some mild chocolate and vanilla. This is how I like a stout/porter to smell.
T: [3.75] Smokey roasted malts. At refrigerator temperature there is also a hint of a metallic taste. Warming the beer to a better stout temp - eliminates the metallic flavor. It also accentuates the chocolate and coffee characteristics.
M: [3.000] "Cream" Porter sets a certain expectation. This is smooth but a little too watery to be truly creamy. It is nice but I think they over sold. Also the carbonation is a little high for the style.
O: [3.50] I am a bit of a homer. This is a local brew and I think it is very tasty. The mouthfeel isn't top notch - but overall this is well executed for a 5% ABV beer. The head and lacing make it pretty to drink. The cocoa and coffee flavors make it delicious. I really like this one.

Pours super dark brown, with a very small head and miniature lacing. A legitimate porter. Chocolate malt balanced with hops which leaves a dry aftertaste. Solid medium body. This one is sessionable and I look forward to having it again.

This is one of the few CB beers that I don't completely hate. It's got a nice creamy lactose feel to it, with a bit of roast, and light chocolate. It's very basic, but it's certainly drinkable.
