Dry and bitter, this ale uses carbonation to get by. Little head and broadens the category of what is acceptable in the catch-all of red ale. Not bad in all of the critical areas, but there are better efforts in their lineup. Would go well with spicy falafel.

All this time I have lived right down the street from Johnny's and this was my first time there Just to try this particular beer. It poured a nice reddish amber colour with a light to moderate head. The smell was very nutty and was rich with the aromas of different hops. The taste was very much the same. Very nutty, had the taste of toasted malts and it also had subtle hints of hops.
