I've had this on tap on many an evening when I have been at California Rollin' eating sushi. I'm enjoying this beer, more than Rogue's Chipotle Ale or any other hot spicy beer. It is a good session brew, good to accompany Japanese foods such as sushi and sashimi with their accompanying wasabi and ginger. It's no match for sake, mind you, but in my book it will do. Particularly on Saturdays when this (and the plum beer) are $1 per pint!
Wasabi beer is a Custom Brewcrafters standard low strength bitter or pale ale plus a bit of wasabi flavor full stop. That is about all I can say about it. That said, it is a good one and check it out.

Eye Candy: Transparent golden yellow, nothing too impressive.
The Nose Knows: This is where Wasabi gets "rollin". The initial front is malt sweetness cleared out by a touch of hops, then WHAMO, the Wasabi began to tickle my nose in a good way. The smell was not overpowering, just enough to let me know the Wasabi there. Perfect balance, lingering afterwards, but clearly not overdone.
Tongueland: Initial malt sweetness, candy-like. Finishes with a mild hop bitterness. Clean and crisp. The Wasabi intensity increases and accumulates over the duration of drinking. The Wasabi does not alter the palate, which impressed me. One could easily switch styles after drinking this and not miss a beat.
Bender Factor: I drank about 5 samples of this at Brewcrafter's festival of ales. I look forward to Wasabi entering the Buffalo market. A Possibility is O on Sheridan. Original Gravity 1.046, 4.6 % Alcohol by Volume
