Limited 4.5bbl release for Caged Alpha Monkey's 6th birthday party on 12/30.
This beer is no way like their flagship IPA, aside from the obvious fact it is a DIPA.
Golden hazy look poured into a tulip glass gave a thick head that took a while to dissipate with aromas of pine and orange.
The citra and mosaic hops and proprietary malts create a very well done balance with fantastic notes of pineapple, mango, and guava.
Medium-thick feel was great, but leaves you wanting more. It finished with a hop forward. palate pleasing freshness that suggests you could crush several of these.
Overall, this was a great limited release that shows CB still has passion behind all of the contract and private label brews. If this beer goes on rotation and folks in the lab keep playing with it, western NY would finally have a beer to line up for.
