CB shouldn't stand for "craft brewers." Rather, it ought to be "could've been." This is one of the most bland, generic "hazy, tropical" IPA's I've ever had. Clearly CB tried to ride the trend wave, and fell flat. This looks good; pale, hazy yellow with a big pillowy white head. Unfortunately, that promise falls away with the taste and feel, mango and passion fruit flavors disappear almost immediately, leaving a thin body in it's wake. All told, this tastes what the label portrays, a monkey in a Hawaiian shirt (an odd to the CAB flagship - Caged Alpha Monkey, a no frills, piney and bitter IPA). Don't get me wrong, the profile fits, but it's like the beer evaporates; destroying it's potential. Ultimately, its like CB cheaped out and just swapped the hop blend they use on Caged Alpha Monkey while expecting consumers not to notice instead of building a new beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
